The CVA provides valuable sport based coaching, volunteering and leadership opportunities that enhance student experience and personal development.
We have two main purposes:
1.To deliver specific strands, enhancing employability within the sporting industry. Our strands are:
- Gym, Health & Fitness
- Marketing & Communications
- Facility Operations
- Sports Science
- Volunteer Zambia
2.To support and develop the rest of the Loughborough Sport workforce personally and professionally. The groups of students we currently support are:
- Coaches within the Loughborough Sport workforce
- Officials within the Loughborough Sport workforce
- Sports Committees
- Tennis Project
- My Lifestyle Activators and Rec Secs
- Loughborough Sport Ambassadors
- Loughborough Sport Hall Coordinators
- Social League Coordinators
This means that any individual that is contributing voluntary time to Loughborough Sport is part of the CVA – and we want to hear from you! To sign up and gain recognition for all your hard work, enter the CVA portal now.
This year, when signing up to opportunities you’ll be able to see whether it counts for Action hours. As an Action volunteer you’ll be contributing hours towards your hall total as well as your bronze, silver and gold Action rewards. For more information about the section and the range of projects we have on offer please visit the LSU Action website or get in touch with Kim Clark, the Sports Action Officer.
CVA Reward & Recognition
When you log your hours through the CVA portal, you’ll gain access to exclusive rewards and recognition!
There are three recognition milestones – 50, 200 and 500 hours. You can log your hours from any CVA positions or external voluntary work in sport you undertake. You can build up your hours from across the whole of your degree programme. You can also track your hours so you can see how far you have to go to reach the next milestone!
What’s more, for every fortnight you log your hours, you’ll earn loyalty points! These will be added onto your student card.
