Unrivalled Sporting Achievement
Loughborough University has made a unique contribution to the world of sport for over sixty years, bringing together exceptional athletes, facilities, coaching, research expertise, and extensive partnerships with major sports organisations.
Some of the most celebrated names in sport have studied at the University including; world record breaking athletes Sebastian Coe, Paula Radcliffe, David Moorcroft and Steve Backley, and probably the greatest-ever Paralympian Tanni Grey-Thompson, and World Cup winning England rugby coach Clive Woodward.
Since our first sports scholar in 1995, Paula Radcliffe, we have supported over 500 students offering coaching, access to our world class training and competition facilities, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and sports massage, general support and a cash award to help towards their sporting expenses.
The support our sports scholars receive during their time at Loughborough, often prior to any major breakthrough is invaluable and you can play a part in encouraging both the sporting and academic goals of these talented and hard-working students.
‘I am now more than six months into my time here at Loughborough and am even more convinced of the sporting DNA that runs through the University and the unique position we are in, both in the UK, and further afield. We have, over many years, given so much to the world of sport and I firmly believe that we are in a position to give even more during the coming decade. Our vision to make Loughborough Sport central to development, participation and performance of Sport in the UK can only be considered with your help and commitment.’ Peter Keen, Director of Sport

The 250 Club
The 250 Club is a lottery with a monthly prize draw of £100, and 3 special prize draws at Christmas, with £1,000, £500 and £250 up for grabs. You can join the 250 Club for only £25 a year.
The 250 Club was created as a means of supporting Loughborough University’s sports scholarship scheme. So called because with an optimum 250 members the scheme would raise several thousands of pounds a year, it’s an opportunity to support our scholars and sport on campus, and be in with a chance to win a cash prize.
Members of the 250 Club receive:
A quarterly newsletter to provide details of how everyone is getting on
Updates prior to major championships (i.e. who to look out for at the Commonwealth Games, the Olympic Games)
A great chance of winning – the odds are less than 250-1!
Anyone can join, so simply send your contact details, including postal and email addresses, and a cheque for £25, payable to Loughborough University, to the address below. If you have any queries at all, please get in touch.
