Mary, a former international hockey player, made her Olympic debut in 1988 at the Seoul games finishing fourth, and was captain of the British team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona cementing her place in British sporting history.
A huge asset to the Loughborough students squad, Mary helped the team to 5 BUSA titles, before taking up the position of women’s coach and leading the team to a further 13 titles.
Following her retirement from international hockey, she stayed actively involved in the sport, serving as coach to the England U21 Women’s Squad, and becoming the University Director of Hockey.
Mary leads the prestigious Institute of Youth Sport at Loughborough University She has recently turned her sporting focus to tennis and is now competing at Masters events across the country.
