Bev Risman

Bev, a former rugby union and rugby league player, served as President of the Rugby Football League, 2010-11. He holds eight England rugby union caps as well as five for Great Britain rugby league – a team he captained in 1968. He played for the British Lions in 1959.

After his playing career, he moved to sports coaching and management in higher education – holding senior roles at Reading University and the West London Institute.

He managed Fulham RLFC, was director of student rugby league and was on the board of directors at the London Broncos with special responsibilities for junior development.

He was also co-founder of the Rugby League Conference, and was coach, fitness advisor and consultant to the international l squad for the Lawn Tennis Association and the Davis Cup. He was inducted into the rugby league Roll of Honour in 2005 and awarded an OBE in 2012.
