Loughborough University are the British Universities most successful competitor winning the overall championship 36 times in just over 60 years. Founded in 1920 under the then named Loughborough College.

The football club plays within the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues with their four squads allowing players the opportunity to represent the university, playing other universities around the country- whilst receiving structured training sessions every week. BUCS matches take place every Wednesday afternoon and provide a competitive environment.
