Match Preview: Loughborough University Vs Shepshed Dynamo

Loughborough University FC will look to extend their unbeaten run as they host Shepshed Dynamo in the Total Motion Midland Football League Premier Division. After Saturday’s 4-3 win at home to South Normanton Athletic, the Scholars sit 15th in the league on 16 points and a win would take them up a couple of spots, and they will be full of confidence having won 4 out of the last 5 in the league. This is the second home game in a spell that sees the Scholars line up at Holywell in 5 of the next 6 fixtures.

Our visitors secured a 4-3 away at Shawbury United last time out thanks to a Niall Prenderville goal in added time and currently sit 9th in the league on 23 points from 14 games with 7 wins. They have been on a mixed run of form recently but the win last time out and a big 3-0 win at home to Bromsgrove Sporting in their last home game have seen them cement their place in mid table.

Form (League):

Loughborough: WWLWW

Shepshed: DDWLW

Loughborough squad:

Stallan, Hilton, Duah, Lewis, Loasby, Spearman, Taylor, Daly, Read, Crookes, Mutamba, Boachie, Dinsmore, Burt-Allen, Lynam, Moran

Head Coach Alex Ackerley has had to ring the changes for this fixture as he had to balance his squad out for the BUCS fixture in Stirling on the 8th November. From Saturday’s squad that beat South Normanton George Hobbs, Toby Aromolaran, Joel Bonner, Paul Braithwaite, Jacob Croud, Olly Davis, Dan Hanson and Ben Last all drop out as they are in the Stirling match squad and they are replaced by Jake Hilton, Eric Duah, Charlie Lewis, Jordan Spearman, James Daly, Kumbirai Mutamba, Ryan Burt-Allen and George Lynam.

Last season:

Last season the Scholars did the double over their neighbours as they won 2-1 at Butthole Lane thanks to goals from Matthew Crookes and Ben Last and they won by the same score when Shepshed came to Holywell thanks to goals from Ben Ward-Cochrane and a late winner from Drew Bridge which secured the Scholars safety in the Total Motion Football League Premier Division last season.
