Captain Hunter set for 100th England cap

England captain Sarah Hunter is set to earn her 100th international cap for England on Tuesday 20th November, the Lightning star set to lead her side out against Canada at Twickenham Stoop.

Starting at No.8, the 2016 World Rugby Player of the Year made her debut for England in 2007 and since has scored 19 tries for the Red Roses.

Two uncapped players have also been included in the starting line-up, with Lightning forward Catherine O’Donnell named in the second row. Having played for England U20s, the Loughborough University MSc student has been rewarded for her excellent start to the Tyrell’s Premier 15s season, and makes the step up to senior international level.

England Head Coach Simon Middleton commented:

Sarah Hunter is an incredible player and the ultimate professional. She has the highest standards in everything that she does, both on and off the pitch. A true leader, ultra-composed and rational but at the same time has real steel in her, she manages the team brilliantly. To achieve 100 caps in a career is truly special, Sarah should be immensely proud.
